Elizabeth,
No worries, we’ll get you inline skating. My recommendation for you if you were looking specifically for Rollerblade brand skates would be to try the 10.5’s first for size and if they fit, great, if not we can work to get you the right size. Most inline skates run similar to a ½ size smaller than standard athletic shoe size. If you have an issue with the 10.5 we have a very simple size exchange as long as the skates are not used.
In the case you want to get an 11 we have four models from K2 which offer skates of the same quality of Rollerblade. K2 inline skates fit very similar to Rollerblade so if the 10.5 ends up being a little small you can pretty much bet the 11 will fit.
Please let me know if you have any further comments or questions. I look forward to helping you get out inline skating. I just got off my skates fresh from an inline hockey game.
Thanks,
Chris Gorski
I would like to buy the phaser G rollerblades for my nine year old granddaughter. She is extremely small for her age and wears a size 11 shoe. What size rollerblades should I purchase?
Margery,
Inline skates typically run the same as shoe size and the Rollerblade Phaser G is no different. Available in an 11-1, this is the size that would fit your granddaughter and is the size that I would recommend. This skate is very east to adjust also, so when she needs to go to a size 12 in it you simply unlatch the front chrome lever and pull the front toe portion of the boot until it locks in place (instructions come with the skate).
Hopefully this helps and you can get your granddaughter out skating in no time.
Please let me know if you have any further comments or questions.
Thanks,
Chris Gorski
I am a 6 in a regular women size.. could someone tell me what my size would be please?
Beatriz,
Rollerblade brand skates fit similar to standard athletic shoe size so if you take a 6 in a regular women’s shoe size you should be fine taking a 6 in a Rollerblade brand skate. We have an easy size exchange policy as long as you do not use the skates; I recommend trying them on inside your home first and checking the fit. Inline skates can break in up to a full ½ size so being a bit tight at first is not always a bad thing, toes just barely touching the front of the skate is a good fit as long as your toes are not curled.
Thanks,
Chris Gorski
My son is a size 7 in boys he is 10 years old and i would like to buy him some skates. What size should i get him?
Carol,
Your son, as a 7, has broken into the adult size in inline skates. As inline skates fit similar to same as shoe size we would recommend going with a 7, you could most likely also go to a 7.5 if offered to get some growing room.
Thanks,
Chris Gorski
I have been looking for a rollerblade with the TFS closure system in my size forever now. I wear a women’s shoe size 9. Is there THAT big of a difference between going with a men’s or a women’s design of rollerblade? I seem to be having better luck finding the TFS in the men’s design, I’m just not sure how that would convert to a women’s size. Any suggestions?
Lisa,
You can go with a men’s inline skate you will want to take it in a size smaller than your women’s shoe size as they sizing is about 1 size difference. Men’s skates also run a bit wider and you will have a bit more room side to side due to this.
It currently looks like we have 4 models women’s and 6 models of men’s that offers the TFS system.
You should also take a look at the K2 Andra Boa inline skates. The Boa system offered by K2 is similar to the TFS as it is a simple tightening system that allows you to tighten the skate greatly without using traditional laces.

Rollerblade Spitfire LX Adjustable Kids Inline Skates 2010 119.00
i want this quality but afraid he will out grow in 1 yr he’s 8 yrs old size 1 or 2 in kids tennis shoe i want good wheels durable and good bearings too… plz help
Cheyenne,
The skates you are looking at are the Rollerblade Spitfire LX and these are adjustable from a size 2 to a size 5 meaning you can have them for more than 1 year. You can start the skates out at the size 2 for his current size and adjust them as he grows to a 3, 4 and finally to a 5. This makes the skate well worth the money as you are getting 4 skate sizes out of one skate.
Thanks,
Chris Gorski
I want to get my son rollerblading while he’s young. It’s excellent exercise and I want him to be able to keep up with me during our outings. He’s 3 years old and fits a toddler size 10. Do you have any suggestions in size and type for a 3 yr old?
hi, recently i bought a pair of Rollerblade fusion x7 in 8.5 size (same as shoe size.) My toes are barely touching the tip of the boot (perfect length size), but width wise is a little bit cramped. shoul I just get a size 9 or just stay with it and let it break in?
thanks,
Villarica
Hello,
I wear a size 7 1/2 in women’s shoes usually. I can actually wear anywhere from a 7 to an 8. I noticed you don’t offer half sizes in women’s roller blades; should I go with a 7 or an 8?
Lauren,
Most all skates run true to athletic shoe size and will typically break in up to a ½ size from how they fit right out of the box. If you had to choose between a 7 or an 8 than I would recommend going with the 7 as the skates will break in and having a snug fit aids in performance. We do however offer several models in a 7.5 which we apologize if they were not showing up for you in your search. Here is a link to the inline skates offered in a 7.5 size.
Thanks,
Chris Gorski
Villarica,
My recommendation would be to try to alter the fit to accommodate your wider foot and instill some comfort before going up in size. You could add a heel lift in the skate to bring your foot up relieving the pressure in the mid of your foot yet keeping the length the same as this is working for you. You can also invest in some supports and an aftermarket footbed to help change how your foot sits in the skate thus helping alleviate the pressure in the width. Check into these options first as having the skate fit snug for length will help aiding in performance and going up in size may make the length too long for your foot.
Also, it takes up to 6 times out skating in an inline skate to fully break it in and sometimes more so if you have not used the skates this many times they may simply break in and fit great in the width once they do.
Thanks,
Chris Gorski
Shawnah,
We have several skates that are adjustable for kids in varying levels of performance. The best performing children’s skate offered is the Rollerblade Spitfire Adjustable, which is adjustable from a size 11 to 1 junior. This should fit fine although your child wears a 10; there is ample padding and support to make going up a size not a big deal. These will offer the smoothest bearings with an SG5 which is comparable to an Abec 5 on the rating scale. The scale starts at 1 and goes to 9 so a 5 is in the middle and is very smooth for children. Here is a link to the Rollerblade Spitfire Adjustable and this would be my number 1 suggestion.
Thanks,
Chris Gorski
I am a size 11 in womens athletic shoes and would like to buy a pair of mens skates. Most of my mens shoes are a 9.5. Would this me the correct size or should I order up a half size and get the 10?
Kate,
It does seem that if you already are wearing men’s shoes in a 9.5 and they fit correctly then this size would be sufficient in men’s inline skates. When going from a women’s size to a men’s we typically suggest you drop a full size to size and a ½ which would out you right where you want to be with the 9.5. Be aware that inline skates break in from how they fit initially out of the box; you can expect almost a ½ size of growth from how they originally fit.
Thanks,
Chris Gorski
I just bought a pair of K2 Electra 2009 skates in size 6.5, but they feel extremely tight around my toes. I shipped them back, but now I realize that it could have been a mistake. In any case I need to replace them. My toes are wider than my heels and I felt that they were too close to the front in the 6.5 K2 Electra. The problem is that I tried a size 7 in K2 Athena style and they were too loose. Do sizes differ slightly by style even though they are the same brand? Maybe the Electra has more padding on the inside and a size 7 would be fine. If I decide to go with a size 7, are there inserts that I can use to make it a better fit around the heel if it’s loose? I also had a question about the K2 and the Rollerblade brand. Does Rollerblade run wider in the toes or are they pretty much the same narrow width as the K2 brand? If they are wider, size 6.5 would probably work with my foot width. Did I make a mistake sending the skates back? Any advice on a certain style of skates I should focus on that run wider around the toes? Thanks for your time.
Irina,
It sounds like the 6.5 is the correct size for you, it just may need some tweaking. They make a pad for the interior of skates and ski boots called a heel lift and this may be the key to your comfort in the 6.5. The heel lift goes under your heel and lifts your heel in the rear of the skate to alleviate some pressure on the toes and front of the foot. Adding a heel lift to the 6.5 may be just what you’re looking for.
As for differing models fitting different, they merely feel different. A higher end skate will typically be stiffer at first making it feel more uncomfortable than it really is. A more entry level skate has less padding which makes it feel already broken in and a bit bigger.
As for the Rollerblade vs K2 in width, they are roughly the same. For the 20 people that say Rollerblade is wider there are 20 more ready to tell you that K2 is wider, in the end either will work with some tweaking.
Thanks,
Chris Gorski
My 9 year old son wears size 4 shoes. What size rollerblade would fit him now and allow him some growth? thanks for your input!
Sandy,
You’re in luck! We offer several skates that are adjustable meaning that the skates grow with your child. A skate size is very similar to a standard shoe size so your son would probably take a size 4 in an inline skate. We currently have 4 models available adjustable from 4-8 and 3 models available adjustable from 4-7.
Thanks,
Chris Gorski
