Kelvin,

You will be fine going with the same size in your new K2’s. K2 has not changed the sizing in their skates in the past years; you may feel that they are a bit narrower at first due to the extra padding and stiffness. This narrow feeling will go away once the skates break in to fit around your foot. Typically a skate can break in up to a ½ size from how they fit directly out of the box. When you first try on the skates your toes should barely brush against the front of the boot, this is normal. If your toes curl at all then you should look into a ½ size larger.

Thanks,

Chris Gorski

I currently use a K2 Kinetic 10, size US 10.5 and length of 28.5cm. Will a K2 radical 100 or radical pro of similar size fit me? i.e. I'm assuming no difference in boot width?

Miles,

K2 skates fit pretty true to shoe size and USD’s fit about 1 full size small. A size 10 in the USD should be sufficient for your size. USD’s tend to run a bit narrow but will break in and form around your foot as you skate with them. It’s this tight fit that will give you more control for grinds and switch ups.

Thanks,

Chris Gorski

Tina,

Absolutely go with the 1-5 in the K2 Merlin, the fit will be perfectly fine and you will get that extra growing room in the skate. When your new skates arrive simply set the adjustment to the setting of 1 and it will fit just as a size 1 in a shoe. The Merlin skates offer great padding, ample performance for children and are durable enough to last through the full size adjustment.

Thanks,

Chris Gorski

I'm interested in purchasing a K2 Merlin Jr Adjustable Roller Blade Skates. My son's shoe size is a size 1. Would you recommend that we go with the 1-5 or stay with the 11-2? Seems like he would get more usage out of the 1-5 size, but not sure if that would be too big for him. He is 8 years old.

Paula,

I understand wanting to stick with a brand, K2 is one of my personal favorites. The 5 may fit perfectly once broken in, most inline skates will break in up to a ½ size from how they fit directly out of the box. Skates mold to your foot form from the heat your foot produces giving you the “glove” fit you desire. I’ve always taken my skates a ½ size smaller than my shoe because I also understand the importance of a tight fit and as they may fit tight at first I know once the break in I had made the right choice. I would recommend going with the 5 and seeing if the fit will work for you, try them on before using them, if your toes just barely touch the front of the skate but are not curling up the fit should be fine once they have broken in.

As for your narrow heal you could add a heel lift which can be found at most ski shops and shoe specialty stores. This is basically a pad that goes directly under the heel to lift your heel up giving your heel more support and also granting your toes more room. As this will give you a bit more room this may be the way to go if the 5 is just a little tight.

Hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any further comments or questions.

Thanks,

Chris Gorski

Alanna,

K2 is the only skate company currently using the BOA system and their skates have been getting rave reviews with this system. K2 skates fit very closely to your regular athletic shoe size so in your case the 6.5 should fit just fine. Brand new inline skates can take a few times out skating to break in so if they are a little tight at first you should feel up to a ½ size of growth once your skate breaks in. Hope this helps!

Thanks,

Chris Gorski

Hello
I am wanting to purchase the K2 Celena women's skates but notice the sizes go from 5 to 6. I wear 5.5 size, 23cm. I have tried on a 6 but my heel rises up (I have a narrow heal) I am an intermediate to advanced skater. Would a size 5 be too small? I do notice that K2's make half sizes past 6 bummer as I want these to fit like a glove as I absolutely love this sport! I really want to stick with this brand if not what's the next best? Any advice?

I am looking for skates with the BOA system. Is K2 the only company to offer this? I'm a 6.5 normal shoe size. What size skate should I get?
