I want to know what size i would get for my daughter her shoe size says 8? she is going to be turning three and loves to skate we want to get her her own pair, but not sure how to size them, we know that is different with sizing them because of them being adjustable.
Please help thanks.
Jannice,
The smallest size we have available in a youth skate is a youth 10. This is available in girls so a 10 will roughly fit as a youth 9-10 shoe size so these may be a bit on the big side at first but this allows a bit more growth.
In stock we have the Powerslide Lucy adjustable skate, with adjustment from 10-13 these skates will have a great life. This is going to be a great skate for your daughter as it offers 3 separate places for adjustments with 2 Velcro clasps on the bottom and a buckle closure on the top. With all these systems it will be easy for her, even at an 8, to get enough support to safely further her skating. If she loves to skate she will love the smooth 72mm wheels and Abec 5 bearings which roll nice even on not so nice surfaces.
Thanks,
Chris Gorski
I find that the K2 Celena’s (as well as other K2 models) fit fairly true to size. I wear a women’s size 8.5-most of the time, and my Celena’s fit perfectly in an 8.5. I did try a size 9, but they were too big and I had very little response-just not enough control. If you have access to a store that sells other K2 models (even if they are not what your skating needs require), try them on just to gauge the size to gauge the fit before ordering online. Remember that the inside padding in the skate will break down a little as you skate more, and that will leave extra room. Size is a personal preference, but ordering online is sometimes a gamble size wise; Albeit a more often than not worthwhile one financially. Hope this helps.
BTW, the Celena skate rolls smoothly on many different types of terrain. My best pair of K2’s yet. Love the lacing system!
Hi, I have a size 13 in Nike’s but a size 12.5 in any other shoe, so I’m wondering what size skate I should get if I want to get the K2 Moto 84’s. Thanks
Hi, I want to know what K2 skate size to purchase if my girl’s feet (sole) measures 8 and 7.5 inches respectively? Your recommendation is much appreciated.
Kyle,
We would recommend going with the 12.5 in the K2 Moto 84’s. If you wear a 13 only in Nike than it would seem 12.5 would be your actual given shoe size. Inline skates are meant to fit snug and will break in up to a ½ size from how the skates feel out of the box. If for any reason the size is incorrect we have an easy size exchange policy, try the skates on inside and ensure correct fit before use.
Thanks,
Chris Gorski
I have wide feet and typically wear a 6.5 W in New Balance shoes. Do you recommend that I got with a 6.5 or a 7 in inline skates?
Ronson,
I used a measure and a standard foot sizing device to get accurate skate sizes for your girl’s feet. For the 8 inch foot you would be in a skate size of roughly a girl’s 1. For the 7.5 inch foot you would be looking for a skate size of roughly a girl’s 13. Most all skates at this size are adjustable and can be used for a wide range of sizes. K2 girl’s skates can be found in sizes of 11-2 which would work well for the size 13 girl and a size 1-5 that would work well for the size 1.
Thanks,
Chris Gorski
Cynthia,
Inline skates fit very similar to standard shoe size but unfortunately do not come in wider widths. Going up a ½ size you will gain some room to add different supports or foot beds to make the width more bearable. You could also add a heel lift, found in many ski boots, to the skate which will bring your foot up in the skate a bit alleviating some pressure on the width.
Thanks,
Chris Gorski
hey Chris,
I just orded a size 15 Valo aggresive skate but they were actually to small. I wear a size 14 shoe. They hurt really bad. I use to have the majestic 12 many years ago but I forgot the size. I really like the K2 fatty and was wondering if the 14 they make will be close to my show size 14. And if so will they stretch a little. Thanks man.
Dustin
Hey,
I’m so excited to start skating season after a grrreat ski season with excellent K2 Miss Demeanors=) I visited a store for trying out different sizes so I know which to purchase cause I want to get Celenas or Electras. I came into a conclusion that the best fit would be between EUR 35 and EUR 36. Has K2 produced size EUR 35.5, or do the X.5 sizes come just with bigger sizes like US6,5, US 7,5 etc? Thank you so much for the response already in advance!:o)
Dustin,
In my experience with K2 aggressive skates they do fit the same as shoe size. I wear a shoe size of 10-10.5 depending on the shoe and I used the K2 Fatty in a 10 about 2 years ago. The sizing of K2’s is the same as they used to be and you would be safe to guess the 14 would work well for you. In most all skates you can expect up to a ½ size of break in or stretch.
Please let me know if you have any further comments or questions.
Thanks,
Chris Gorski
Meri,
You are right, K2 skates are not offered in ½ sizes until pass the 6.0 mark starting them at 6.5. If you were looking at K2 skates specifically I would recommend going with the ½ size smaller anticipating roughly up to a ½ size of break in from how the skate fits directly out of the box. I typically take my skates a ½ size smaller than my standard shoe as I enjoy a tighter more performance fit from my inline skates.
If you are looking for a 35.5 or 5.5 US you could go with Rollerblade, this brand has very similar characteristics and quality as K2 and we offer several of their skate models in a 5.5.
Thanks,
Chris Gorski
Hi Chris,
I would like to purchase the K2 Fat Joe but I can’t seem to find them in any stores (near Boston) in order to try the fit. I wear a size 7.5 or 8 depending on the shoe. I was able to try the EXO in a size 8 and it was too “roomy” in the toes. Does the Fat Joe fit similar to the EXO?
Joe,
Yes the Fat Joe does fit very similar to the Exo. Given this information it makes sense for you to try the 7.5 and see if it fits correctly. We have a very easy size exchange program if it end up being the incorrect size. We ask that you do not use them but try them on inside for size first before using the skates. You can also expect up to a ½ size of break in from a new inline skate.
Thanks,
Chris Gorski
I am looking for skates with the BOA system. Is K2 the only company to offer this? I’m a 6.5 normal shoe size. What size skate should I get?
Hello
I am wanting to purchase the K2 Celena women’s skates but notice the sizes go from 5 to 6. I wear 5.5 size, 23cm. I have tried on a 6 but my heel rises up (I have a narrow heal) I am an intermediate to advanced skater. Would a size 5 be too small? I do notice that K2’s make half sizes past 6 bummer as I want these to fit like a glove as I absolutely love this sport! I really want to stick with this brand if not what’s the next best? Any advice?
Alanna,
K2 is the only skate company currently using the BOA system and their skates have been getting rave reviews with this system. K2 skates fit very closely to your regular athletic shoe size so in your case the 6.5 should fit just fine. Brand new inline skates can take a few times out skating to break in so if they are a little tight at first you should feel up to a ½ size of growth once your skate breaks in. Hope this helps!
Thanks,
Chris Gorski
Paula,
I understand wanting to stick with a brand, K2 is one of my personal favorites. The 5 may fit perfectly once broken in, most inline skates will break in up to a ½ size from how they fit directly out of the box. Skates mold to your foot form from the heat your foot produces giving you the “glove” fit you desire. I’ve always taken my skates a ½ size smaller than my shoe because I also understand the importance of a tight fit and as they may fit tight at first I know once the break in I had made the right choice. I would recommend going with the 5 and seeing if the fit will work for you, try them on before using them, if your toes just barely touch the front of the skate but are not curling up the fit should be fine once they have broken in.
As for your narrow heal you could add a heel lift which can be found at most ski shops and shoe specialty stores. This is basically a pad that goes directly under the heel to lift your heel up giving your heel more support and also granting your toes more room. As this will give you a bit more room this may be the way to go if the 5 is just a little tight.
Hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any further comments or questions.
Thanks,
Chris Gorski
